❌ Common Mistakes & Fixes

Moving head during stroke

Keep eyes focused on back of ball until well after impact

Inconsistent tempo

Practice with metronome or counting rhythm

Poor alignment

Use alignment sticks or practice gate drills

🏃 Practice Drills

Gate Drill

Set up two tees just wider than your putter head, 6 inches past the ball.

  • • Ensures square putter face
  • • Builds confidence in stroke path
  • • Practice with 3-foot putts
  • • Progress to longer distances

Distance Control

Practice lag putting to various distances without a cup.

  • • Focus on speed, not line
  • • Try to stop ball within 3 feet
  • • Vary distances from 20-40 feet
  • • Build feel for green speed
